Franco La Cecla is an anthropologist, writer, filmmaker, and traveller. He currently teaches Cultural Anthropology at NABA and IULM in Milan, after having taught in Berkeley, Barcelona, Paris, Venice, and Bologna. As the author of numerous essays on contemporary issues, he has intertwined anthropological reflection with topics such as space, architecture, urban planning, masculinity, and media.
In this dialogue with curator David Elliott, during the conference “Pier Luigi Tazzi: From the degree 0 of criticism to the crisis of curatorship”, anthropologist Franco La Cecla discusses the theme of decolonization, the meaning of restitution, and the link between artefacts and art in non-Western countries.
